Blogger/Vlogger Grant Information

Each term, we select a team of student bloggers, vloggers, and Instagram TV vloggers to share their study abroad experiences on the CAPA World blog.  Our  Fall & Spring bloggers, vloggers, and IGTV vloggers receive a grant of $550 to help generate content while abroad. Our Summer grant recipients receive a grant of $400 due to the shorter term.

The grant is distributed in two disbursements: Students receive a disbursement via direct deposit to their bank account prior to departure on their program which includes half of their grant along with an 'explorer fund' to help fund content creation. The remaining grant amount is disbursed once responsibilities as an official blogger or vlogger have been completed upon return. Failure to complete all required posts will result in partial or full forfeit of remaining grant funds.

To be eligible, you must have been accepted to study abroad on a CAPA program, and along with your application, you must complete a sample blog/vlog entry based on a prompt and submit a link to show examples of your work.

Official bloggers and vloggers submit 8 pieces of content (Spring & Fall) or 5 pieces of content (Summer) to deadlines during their study abroad program, and then wrap up their time abroad with an additional reflection post the week they return home. There are a few required topics to cover, but also plenty of room for creativity.

Disclaimer: This grant could potentially be taxable. Speak to a financial consultant for advice.
